What might be required to prove employment with a registered company? What if you're, say, a sole-proprietor LLC owner?
I was wondering the same about self-employed (without a registered company) or even freelancers who have short-term contracts every couple of days. 🤷
What country allows to do business as a company (thats the case when you are self-employed) and not registering it in any way? Sounds like tax fraud.

Yeah, the bank will make you buy something to be able to get the account. and usually, you need some kind of property to justify having an account. It's not going to be easy for someone who hasn't walked the ropes in Thailand before.

Thailand recently introduced a new tax law. If you spend 180 days a year in Thailand you must pay tax regardless you brought money to thailand or not. This visa is simply to catch and tax people.

The DTV visa is meant for those who are not working for Thai companies inside of Thailand. You may be able to look into the LTR visa.
Question is can you just re apply for the visa every year to get the 180 plus 180 day extension benefits
This is the most confusing part!! Do they mean we have 5 years to get our 180 day stamp, and then we can only do one extension, and the whole thing is done... Or do they mean it's 5 year permission for multiple entry with 180 day stamps every time (it's a big difference)
Obviously, it's not the latter. That will kill their Thai Privilege Visa, where they make way more money from.

I think you can bounce in, and out with 180 day stamps without a limit. But you can only extend once while in country.

You can open a bank account on almost any visa already, just depends on the branch.

That's not true, I have been living in Thailand for a decade, and when I was a tourist no bank wanna open a bank account for me (why a tourist would need a bank account), it is the same in other countries. You will need at least a student visa, retirement, thai wife visa, work permit etc... etc...
This will be multi-entry visa right? Most users of the visa would not be staying the entire 180 days within the country. I would actually need to leave back and forth for work.
It has been mentioned officially in a few places that this will indeed be a multiple entry visa.
