So does this mean just ฿500,000 from pay slips, savings etc OR ฿500,000 purely from savings over a minimum of 3 months? Some places it says that you must have a deposit (Cash) in your bank account for at least 500,000 THB. The future cashflow, stocks, bonds, funds or any other assets will not be considered. So what is correct? Can someone who actually has a DTV help, please.
You are correct for the DTV they only care about cash in the account. Cashflow is less of a concern.

Hi, I’m from Germany and have a retirement visa that is valid until May 11. I want to change it to a DTV visa. Do I need to cancel my retirement visa first before I apply for the DTV? And can I apply from Vietnam or Laos? Which country is easiest?
Technically you can apply with an active retirement visa. But to actually use it you must cancel your retirement visa, and enter into Thailand under your DTV visa. You can try asking in the Facebook help groups: https://asq.in.th/groups
Could you tell the reason for the change? Because I have DTV and thinking to change it to a retirement visa. Is DTV better somehow?

You become a tax resident in Thailand if you stay longer than 6 months within a year.

It depends on which consulate you apply through. Some are more strict than others.
