information please! thank you.
Been pretty quiet for the last week
Hopefully, 🤞 final preparations
What might be required to prove employment with a registered company? What if you're, say, a sole-proprietor LLC owner?
I was wondering the same about self-employed (without a registered company) or even freelancers who have short-term contracts every couple of days. 🤷
What country allows to do business as a company (thats the case when you are self-employed) and not registering it in any way? Sounds like tax fraud.
Where are all the updates? It's been quiet, and it's almost the middle of June!??
I dont understand, is this real or not!?
Yeah, the bank will make you buy something to be able to get the account. and usually, you need some kind of property to justify having an account. It's not going to be easy for someone who hasn't walked the ropes in Thailand before.

Thailand recently introduced a new tax law. If you spend 180 days a year in Thailand you must pay tax regardless you brought money to thailand or not. This visa is simply to catch and tax people.
you must pay tax regardless you brought money to thailand or not This has not yet been approved.
I want to know is in 10,000 bhatt is fee for me my spouse my children under 18 or separate fee for them? Once I get dtv visa after 6 month I renew 360 1 years then for 2 year it will renewed or not as said 5 years kindly explain Can I do work in Thailand private company job which published on job portal like jobthai ,jobbkk, jobsdb can do work for that job on dtv visa?
The DTV visa is meant for those who are not working for Thai companies inside of Thailand. You may be able to look into the LTR visa.
Question is can you just re apply for the visa every year to get the 180 plus 180 day extension benefits
This is the most confusing part!! Do they mean we have 5 years to get our 180 day stamp, and then we can only do one extension, and the whole thing is done... Or do they mean it's 5 year permission for multiple entry with 180 day stamps every time (it's a big difference)
Obviously, it's not the latter. That will kill their Thai Privilege Visa, where they make way more money from.
This almost sounds too good be true, but fingers crossed
My thoughts exactly... It might make a few Elite visa people angry, especially if they bought it since the price increase last year 🙄 But it would be awesome for many nomads.
Hello, can i get only a one way ticket for this visa or do you need a return ticket too?
Also maximal 360 (180 + 180) Tage für 20.000 Bath innerhalb der 5 Jahren, es dürfte uninteressant für die meisten sein, ohne mal an Steuer zu denken.
I think you can bounce in, and out with 180 day stamps without a limit. But you can only extend once while in country.
Can you open a Thai bank account with this visa?
You can open a bank account on almost any visa already, just depends on the branch.
Easier said than done...
That's not true, I have been living in Thailand for a decade, and when I was a tourist no bank wanna open a bank account for me (why a tourist would need a bank account), it is the same in other countries. You will need at least a student visa, retirement, thai wife visa, work permit etc... etc...
This will be multi-entry visa right? Most users of the visa would not be staying the entire 180 days within the country. I would actually need to leave back and forth for work.
It has been mentioned officially in a few places that this will indeed be a multiple entry visa.
Works for me as I only want to spend 6 months in Asia if I stay longer outside the uk I pay capital gains on assets I own.
You are ok with transferring 500,000 THB?!
Will the visa sticker say 'Tourist Visa'? I need my home insurance to get coverage. The visa must be categorized as a tourist visa for my home country insurance to provide coverage in Thailand.
Will most likely not say Tourist Visa
Hmm what about taxes if you work from Thailand ?
I found this resource[0] saying 180 days per visit. Maybe details getting wrong in translation: Introducing the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) for long-term travel, “digital nomads,” and participants >in certain cultural activities, with a period of stay up to 180 days per visit, on a multiple-entry basis within 5 >years; 0: http://thailand.prd.go.th/en/content/category/detail/id/48/iid/293120
This is helpful. This strengthens the idea that you will be able to border bounce and get 180 day stamps possibly without a limit. It also states that its one of the FIVE short term items they are gunning for so it means this may be available sooner rather than later.
A digital savings account with a deposit of around EUR 13,000 (around THB 500,000) should be sufficient and not a major handicap for most digital nomads. I understand the visa's validity of 5 years to be the maximum. If, for example, I have already used up 180 days + possible extension, I will probably be able to apply for a new visa.
Is this multiple entries? Example , I can go to nearby countries or to my own country and can return back any time I want?
I hope so. Not clear yet.
live in thailand for 1 year for 20,000 baht
