Do I have to pay for every border run 10.000 baht again with the DTV?

Anonymous

No you do not. Entry stamps under this visa type are FREE, and reset the 180 days. Also the 180 extension is only 1,900b.

В каких банках можно открыть счет при наличии DTV визы?

This is still unclear

Can I get residency certificate with DTV?

Anonymous

I do not think so

Anonymous

No; you need to file a tax return in Thailand to get a TRC.

Hello everyone. I have the following situation: I am currently in Thailand on a non-ed visa (expires in a couple of months) I cannot apply for an e-visa. Let's say I have a contract to work for a company in the US (I'm not a US citizen). I am very confused by the sentence "It's important to note that for the DTV, you must apply from the country where your employment is based" (btw, what does digital nomadism have to do with it then?) Can anyone tell me if there is any way to apply for DTV (with/without agency) without visiting the US, for example, from nearby country (Vietnam/Indonesia/whatever)?

Anonymous

Could anyone help with this question? Im wondering the same.

Anonymous

Although you have the option to apply online, the last sentence is confusing. I don't know what it means by 'country where you can establish your presence'. It defeats the purpose of online application, which you are supposed to do anywhere in the world. "Another option is to apply through the Thailand e-Visa website. This convenient method allows you to complete the application online and submit your documents either by uploading them or mailing them in. Although this option is non-refundable, it is crucial to ensure that you meet the eVisa qualifications beforehand. The eVisa application must be completed from the country where you can establish your presence."

Anonymous

I agree this last paragraph / sentence contradicts itself. Based on the sentence, and the DTV eligibility test I just did (I said I was in Vietnam but have an Australian passport and work for Australian company) it said I was fully eligible. Applying online and uploading all documents online should get you the approval letter you need to enter Thailand and get your DTV visa. I guess until someone does this scenario we won't know for sure. But I can't see the harm in doing the online e-application, if you get the approval letter then simply book a flight to Thailand and see! That's what I will be doing in a few months once my ED visa expires.

Are you sure myanmar citizen can't join the DTV Visa ?

Mary

This visa is available for every country. It may be that the Thai embassy in Myanmar has not updated their systems. Reach out directly to them for guidance.

Anonymous

Applicable only to the 93 countries listed above. Wondering why Myanmar was not included when the rest of the ASEAN countries were listed.

Hi, i want to do the digital thai visa

EmployeeInHomeoffice

Just for information: After starting the process and paying the 350 EUR they started to ask me - an guy just employed by a big company and working in home office - for: "Company business establishment document issued by the appropriate authority of your country. If not, it must be legalized by the issuing country's embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs." I hope they will not need that because I will not start the process of getting this kind of document and legalizing it.

Anonymous

Did you provide your financial documents like bank statements, and show your salary / pay slip as well?

EmployeeInHomeoffice

Yes. Bank statement and work agreement with salary. I sent them on their request my last payrol and hope this is sufficient.

EmployeeInHomeoffice

Just wanted to update the status: After uploading the last payrol and a short letter describing my situation (working remote for a big company and that I don't know what document they need to get from me), my DTV has been approved.

Anonymous

Any document executed outside of Thailand requires authentication. This is a generally accepted procedure globally to ensure that documents are not fake.

Anonymous

I think the Company business establishment document is necessary. It's easy to get from the HR department of your company. But if it is needed to let the issuing country's embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalize, too tedious.

Chloe

Hello how many months pay roll do you need to evidence? Thanks 🙏

chris

Hi team, just need to clarify the 180 days with regard to multiple entries. Can someone pls confirm ? Q1 - are multiple entries allowed within the 180 days, ie to support FIFO work back in Australia on an 6wk/3wk rotation? Q2 - or is the 180 days only supporting a single entry at the start of that period? Thanks, Chris

Anonymous

You can enter unlimited times as it is a multiple entry visa. Each time you arrive the entry stamp will be 180 days, and you may apply ONLY ONE 180 day extension (within the validity of the visa) to each entry stamp. This allows you to stay up to 360 days without leaving.

Chloe

So does this mean I could go and renew every 180 days and stay for 5 years without leaving? Thanks!

Is traveling to Thailand to learn Thai considered under the "Thai soft power related activities"? If applying for the visa under the category for cooking classes, seminars, etc - how many classes or seminars do we need to schedule?

Anonymous

From what i understand they need to be TAT supported things.

Anonymous

What does TAT supported mean?

Anonymous

Endorsed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Sponsored/supported by them.

Anonymous

Is going to Thailand to learn Thai considered a Thai soft power related activitity (Education and seminars)?

Anonymous

Sorry, I did not mean to downvote. I also wanted the answer to this question.

Not all embassy offer DTV

Joe

This visa is available for every country. It may be that the Thai embassy in every country has not updated their systems yet with how to apply. I would advise reaching out directly to your country's Thai Embassy for guidance.

can i open a bank account in thailand if i got the DTV?

Jake

Yes you can open a bank account under DTV.

Spencer

Why is New Zealand considerably higher than anywhere else? Is there a chance this figure may change?

Jake

I don't think so, they always charge too much for everything. I mean even charges like 6k THB for a simple tourist visa.

John Halnan

Sawadee Khap, I am interested in applying for this visa. However I am not sure if I qualify. I was a conventional businessman but sold my media business 3 years ago. Since then I have invested online in stocks shares and bonds. This is how I make money, I do it all digitally from wherever I am travelling in the world. Does this qualify me for the DTV. I have no problem providing for myself, bank account with funda and proving the size of portfolio I operate.

Anonymous

This should be possible.

Anonymous

Hi everyone, Do you know if you have to apply from the country of origin or could apply from anywhere ? I'm French but currently traveling in south east Asia and would be entering Thailand from KL

Anonymous

It depends on the applicants country, and the country they are applying in. Many countries are only allowing its own residents to apply.

Chris

Question: can it be extended every year? It says once, does that mean once within 5 years? Thanks!

John

You need to extend after 180 days. You can extend once within a year. Then you have to leave the country and then come back. within the first 180 days or the extended 180 days (extension costs 10,000), you can leave any time (as it's multi-entry visa) and when you come back, the 180 days start ticking. I assume, if you do a border run or travel away and return, that doesn't cost anything. That's how I understand it.

Anonymous

It can be extended once after each entry stamp.

Anonymous

Cost is 1,900 THB for extensions within Thailand, and you can extend once per entry stamp. So technically you can extend multiple times in one year if you left, and entered.

Applied for DTV on 17th July (from Hungary), asked for additional documents (proof of address/stay in Thailand and flight ticket) on 19th and received my approved DTV visa today (valid from today, valid until 22 June 2029.)

Anonymous

Did you apply on-line?

nimue

Please give us information of how to and where to apply.

John

applied here: https://thaievisa.go.th/

Dan

That's good to hear. May I ask under what category you applied under (remote worker or going for thai classes), and what other documents you provided? Thanks so Much

John

Under remote worker. Needed an employment contract, proof of residency in my home country, proof of funds and additionally, they asked to upload flight ticket (one way into Thailand) and further proof of accomodation in Thailand.

Dan

Excellent, thanks for info. I have all that except proof of accommodation in Thailand, so will sort that and apply. Thanks again
