This strengthens the idea that you will be able to border bounce and get 180 day stamps possibly without a limit.

Those only count for visa exempt. If you have a visa you can bounce as many times as your visa allows.
IE if you got your DTV, bouncing is allowed (and technically needed to start the visa)

The 6-Month extention is confusing, as that too is 10k THB. Is it true that the extention changes the durtation of your stay to 360 days for each and every visit?
-> Say I enter Thailand on a DTV
-> Stay for 6 months
-> Then extend and stay for an additional 6 months
-> Then leave the conutry for a week

A copy of a recent saving or checking bank statement with an ending balance of no less than 500,000 THB or ($16,000 USD) that shows the applicant's name and date. In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided

with this "Thai soft power" - can I pick any of courses? Are there any boundaries like how long it should be, number of hours, etc? As i can imagine musical festival participation can be 1 day, thai cooking class for few hours and so on - does it count?

I am currently halfway through my second year using a so-called "retirement" visa which is a year-by-year extension of my original 90-day Non-O-visa.
No health insurance is not needed with this type of visa.

The year by year application is not an Extension of the Original Visa once granted! It is Not a visa at all! Its just the allowance to stay! And it is the Most attracted way to stay in Thailand, but only for old people retired people, allowed to request. The DTV Visa is for Everybody, Young pöble.

You need to extend after 180 days. You can extend once within a year. Then you have to leave the country and then come back. within the first 180 days or the extended 180 days (extension costs 10,000), you can leave any time (as it's multi-entry visa) and when you come back, the 180 days start ticking. I assume, if you do a border run or travel away and return, that doesn't cost anything.

Since then I have invested online in stocks shares and bonds. This is how I make money, I do it all digitally from wherever I am travelling in the world. Does this qualify me for the DTV. I have no problem providing for myself, bank account with funda and proving the size of portfolio I operate.

This visa is available for every country. It may be that the Thai embassy in every country has not updated their systems yet with how to apply. I would advise reaching out directly to your country's Thai Embassy for guidance.

You can enter unlimited times as it is a multiple entry visa.
Each time you arrive the entry stamp will be 180 days, and you may apply ONLY ONE 180 day extension (within the validity of the visa) to each entry stamp. This allows you to stay up to 360 days without leaving.

Just for information: After starting the process and paying the 350 EUR they started to ask me - an guy just employed by a big company and working in home office - for: "Company business establishment document issued by the appropriate authority of your country. If not, it must be legalized by the issuing country's embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

Hello everyone. I have the following situation:
I am currently in Thailand on a non-ed visa (expires in a couple of months)
I cannot apply for an e-visa.
Let's say I have a contract to work for a company in the US (I'm not a US citizen).
I am very confused by the sentence "It's important to note that for the DTV, you must apply from the country where your employment is based" (btw, what does digital nomadism have to do with it then?)
Can anyone tell me if there is any way to apply for DTV (with/without agency) without visiting the US, for example, from nearby country (Vietnam/Indonesia/whatever)?

Although you have the option to apply online, the last sentence is confusing. I don't know what it means by 'country where you can establish your presence'. It defeats the purpose of online application, which you are supposed to do anywhere in the world. "Another option is to apply through the Thailand e-Visa website. This convenient method allows you to complete the application online and submit your documents either by uploading them or mailing them in. Although this option is non-refundable, it is crucial to ensure that you meet the eVisa qualifications beforehand. The eVisa application must be completed from the country where you can establish your presence."

I agree this last paragraph / sentence contradicts itself. Based on the sentence, and the DTV eligibility test I just did (I said I was in Vietnam but have an Australian passport and work for Australian company) it said I was fully eligible.
Applying online and uploading all documents online should get you the approval letter you need to enter Thailand and get your DTV visa.
I guess until someone does this scenario we won't know for sure. But I can't see the harm in doing the online e-application, if you get the approval letter then simply book a flight to Thailand and see! That's what I will be doing in a few months once my ED visa expires.

I am a Bangladeshi citizen, currently living in Bangladesh, and work remotely with a company based in USA, where I make more amount than the minimum threshold. Am I eligible to apply for DTV? I have contacted the Royal Thai Embassy in Bangladesh (& Agencies they work with). They have told me that no instruction has been given to them regarding the visa type and thus they can not start processing it here.
If this is the case, how can I apply for DTV as I can see no other options (e-visa or apply from a different country) are available for me!

Had my DTV visa approved, it took 4 business days to turnaround, I was impressed at how efficient the embassy in London was. Soon after submitting the initial application I was asked to submit additional documents to provide evidence that I am self-employed, and have work contracts (in this case my clients) that allow me carry out my work for them remotely.
What I initially provided was;
Financial evidence of the 500k baht, as cash savings. I'd suggest not other assets but something that is 'liquid' and you have instant access to.
A work contract between myself and one of my clients, showing rates of pay, agreed working hours and that the work can be undertaken remotely / not location dependant.
Evidence of current location, my UK drivers licence with current address.
A portfolio of work - My work is quite visual so a showcase of various projects carried out for current clients.
2 days after submission I was asked for additional information;
Evidence of self employment, so either a tax return to the Tax Authority or letter confirming self-employed status from a registered Accountant. (I sent a copy of my tax return from the last tax year).
Confirmation of job title and remote work ability from employer (In my case I asked two clients to write on company headed paper what I do for them and that I can carry out my duties for them remotely, both letters signed by directors).
The application went to 'pending approval' and 1 day later was approved.
The checks seemed more stringent than some web articles/ youtube videos seem to suggest so I would advise having solid evidence to call upon to back up your application.
What I initially provided was;

Do you have a Korean ARC? If so, the Embassy in Seoul will take your application. If you don't have an ARC, you can't, at least not in Seoul.

I imagine it works like any other visa. I ran out of pages in my old passport and I had a fairly new visa. So the embassy in Bangkok processed my new visa and gave me a letter to give to immigration when I leave out of Thailand to give to IO.

Big legal ramifications if they did, lots of people would be claiming reimbursements / compensation. The economy is lagging, they need foreign investment/ consumers to improve GDP in the short term. They might scrap the VISA option for new applications but they would need to honour those already received.

Are Thai banks aware of DTVs? So all I need to do is bring my Passport and Visa to a bank and they’ll open an account for me? I have money in US and Indian bank accounts. How will they allow me to open an account with them? Thai cash and then after the account is open, I can transfer from my overseas accounts? The more detail the better please.

मैं वीजा पर पासपोर्ट नंबर कैसे बदलूं? क्योंकि जो वीजा आपको मिलता है वह आपके पहले नाम + अंतिम नाम + पासपोर्ट नंबर से संबंधित होता है। मैं 5 साल का वीजा (थाईलैंड के लिए) प्राप्त करने की योजना बना रहा हूं लेकिन मेरा पासपोर्ट केवल 3 साल से कम समय के लिए मान्य है। इसलिए मुझे इसे वीजा समाप्त होने से पहले जल्दी बदलना होगा। ईविजा वेबसाइट पर पासपोर्ट नंबर बदलने के लिए कोई फॉर्म नहीं है। क्या किसी ने इसे करने की कोशिश की है?

My family lives in Thailand but I’m 27. If for example my fathers wife submits a sponsorship letter would this be enough? And could I apply for example from Vietnam? What type of document do I need to indicate current location. I’m Dutch but I have Spanish residency. Would be really inconvenient for me right now to return to Spain.

This just in: I confirmed that as an American I can apply for the DTV Visa at the Thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh. This is the email response I got.
They said:
“Dear Sir/Madam,
With regard to your inquiries, U.S. citizens can apply for the Destination Thailand visa (DTV) at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Best regards,”
They also noted:
“Nationals of Certain Countries are required to apply for a visa ONLY at Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country. However, those who are residing in Vietnam and holding The Vietnamese Residence Card are able to apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City by providing a copy of the Vietnamese residence card with legalization stamp from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs.”

I am a bit disapointed!!! I applied from Germany for DTV for Remote Work. I added my english working contract and the other documents they ask in the webside. Each document must not be larger than 3 MB. There was no chance to add aditional documents like my remote work agreement with my company. After 2 days i got a mail "visa application has been cancelled" without any information why. I payed 350 euros for what? i am currently thinking about to give this job to my lawyer in bangkok or just go there on holiday

Ich habe eine Frage bevor ich das DTV Visa beantragen möchte. Ich möchte in Absprache mit meinem Arbeitgeber 3-4 x im Jahr einreisen, jeweilige Dauer 1-3 Monate ca. 6 Monate im Jahr insgesamt auf 3 -4 mal verteilt, später evtl. mehr.
Kann das DTV VISA für jede Einreise genommen werden oder muss zusätzliches getan werden ? Da ich evtl. einen Umzug in Deutschland plane (50 km weiter ). Wenn ich das VISA vor dem Umzug bekomme ( mit der aktuellen Adresse ) und sich ein paar Monate danach die deutsche Adresse ändert ( auch im Pass / Umzug / Ummeldung ), bleibt das VISA dann wie es ist oder muss ich neu beantragen bzw. Änderungen wegen der Deutschland Adresse machen lassen ?

Technically you can apply with an active retirement visa.
But to actually use it you must cancel your retirement visa, and enter into Thailand under your DTV visa.

क्या आपको पता है कि क्या सभी से थाइलैंड में प्रवेश टिकट मांगा जाता है? मैंने ऐसे लोगों के बारे में सुना है जिनसे यह नहीं मांगा गया। एक एजेंसी जो मेरे वीज़ा में मदद कर रही थी, पहले कह रही थी कि यह ज़रूरी नहीं है, अब उन्होंने मुझसे यह माँगा है। मुझे यह अविश्वसनीय लगता है कि वे मुझसे ऐसी चीज़ मांगें और मुझे यह भी नहीं पता कि मुझे वीज़ा मिलेगा या कब मिलेगा।

About 5 years ago I went to Thailand for a month, and overstayed my visa by just 1 day (I paid a fine for this).

Yes, you can still apply for the DTV. A single overstay of just one day, especially if you paid the fine at the airport and did not receive a ban or black mark, will not prevent you from applying for the DTV with a Dutch passport. As long as you have not been blacklisted or banned from entering Thailand, a minor overstay like this is not an issue for most visa applications.
If you have no record of being denied entry or banned, you should be fine. Just make sure you meet the other requirements for the DTV.

Hab mein DTV-Visum innerhalb von 48 Stunden genehmigt bekommen, gute Vorbereitung und gute Aufbereitung der Unterlagen ist wichtig. Bei Anforderung zusätzliche Infos habe ich innerhalb von 2 Stunden geantwortet.
Donnerstag 16 Uhr online beantragt und bezahlt
Freitag um 14 Uhr Anforderung zusätzliche Unterlagen
Freitag um 16 Uhr alle zusätzlich angeforderte Unterlagen hochgeladen
Samstag um 11.52 war die Genehmigung da, komplett mit E-Visa zum ausdrucken.
Kompliment an das Thailändische Konsulat in Frankfurt. Super Arbeit!
